Souda for Chania
Today's port of call is Chania In Crete, which is one of the many Greek islands that we haven't visited before.
We decided to catch the local bus from the port of Souda, the port where we docked into Chania which was a 20 minute drive away, where we opted to have a look around some of the many shops, making our way down to the sea front and the lighthouse in the towns small harbour. On our way we calling in at many souvenir (tat) shops so Perdita could add to her ever growing collection of shot glasses and postcards. ( I am begining to think we are going to need a bigger display cupboard).
On our last cruise we met up with a couple (Les and Julie) from Hyde who we just seem to hit it off with, their sense of humour was exactly the same as ours and Les is just as much under the thumb as I am. We had already booked this cruise when we met them, and since then they have booked the same first cruise week with 2 more of thier friends Alf and Carol who we had meet when we met up with Les and Julie since the last cruise. I like to think they booked the cruise due to our charm and charisma, but in all honesty it was more likely because tomorrow we are at Santorini, which is on thier bucket list to visit. But more of that tomorrow when we go to Santorini.
Pongo and Perdita signing off for today.
